“But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” Jeremiah 29:7
HP Pres is committed to working towards the transformation of our city through promoting justice, feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, and supporting and mentoring the marginalized.
In 2017 HP Pres made a ten year commitment to come along side ministry partners working in South Dallas with the goal to create long-term transformation in low-income and marginalized neighborhoods. Strategies include working to reduce crime, increase educational opportunities, mentoring students, neighborhood beautification, develop leadership and job training opportunities. Here is who we partner with to make this a reality:
More than 5,400 children are currently in the foster care system in the DFW metroplex. They are placed with caregivers that include foster parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who have all stepped up to bring these kids into their home to care for them. Many of these families are operating on a limited budget and find it difficult to provide items beyond basic care. Many children arrive to a home with only the clothes they are wearing. Our desire is to bless both the families and the children with items they need but also provide spiritual and emotional support.
HP Pres is partnering with Advocates for Community Transformation in fighting for justice in South Dallas neighborhoods. ACT has a new model of ministry that uses the justice system to empower inner-city residents to fight crime on their street, while sharing with them the hope of the gospel. Hundreds of families in this are need an advocate who will stand up for justice with them in stopping crime and protecting them from predators. We partner with Austin Street Center and Body & Soul to provide relief to the homeless population in Dallas
The Austin Street Center offers emergency shelter and related services to the homeless of Dallas in a compassionate, Christian environment. Highland Park Pres provides the food and volunteers to serve 250 men and women dinner on the second Wednesday of every month.
Body & Soul is a partnership of local churches that have been instrumental in providing physical and spiritual nourishment to homeless and at risk populations for over 20 years. Every third Saturday morning HP Pres provides a home-cooked and substantial breakfast alongside worship music and bible teaching.
Dallas Leadership Foundation was founded in 1995 to glorify Christ by addressing the root issue facing challenged communities—the lack of leadership.
By focusing on systematic leadership development built on a foundation of genuine love and respect for people, our deepening relationships within Dallas' neighborhoods turned our hope for sustainable change from a mere dream into a reality. Today we serve as a bedrock for collaborative community transformation.
DLF’s mission is accomplished by staff with over 20 years of experience serving people in need. The team works out of three main departments: DLF Neighborhoods, DLF Prison & Reentry, and DLF Youth.
HP Pres partners with FTNRO to work with refugees to help set them up to live a successful and independent life in their new homes. A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. While teaching English, caring for their children or helping them move into an apartment we are able to share the love of Christ.

Mercy Street works in historically under-resourced communities where residents face specific obstacles and challenges through no fault of their own. We believe all people experience poverty, whether economic or spiritual. Their vision is to empower the next generation of Christian leaders to transform their communities.
Founded in 1995, Youth Believing in Change (YBC) is a Christ-centered ministry that provides a spiritual and educational foundation through year-round programming to children in the Vickery Meadow and Lake Highlands area of Northeast Dallas.
