Dominican Republic Mission Trip (High School)

9-12th graders are invited to join HP Pres High School for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic July 13-20, 2024, as we partner with Mission Emanuel to serve their community and grow our own. Mission Emanuel is a cross-cultural, relational, Christian ministry that strives to promote discipleship through short-term mission trips focused on community transformation. The total cost is $2,200 to cover airfare, transportation, food, and lodging.

This trip is an extension of the beloved partnership HP Pres shares with Mission Emanuel – a discipleship ministry located in the Dominican Republic focused on transforming a community through the power of Jesus Christ. The ministry is geographically headquartered in the small villages of Cielo and Nazaret, located on the western edge of Santo Domingo. The organization seeks to reach whole communities and serve them deeply. At the Cielo campus, the mission houses a pre-school, a medical center with a pediatric clinic and dental office, water purification plant, community center, women’s cooperative workroom, an office building, screen-printing room, and multiple storage facilities.

As a means to meet the physical needs of an impoverished community, our short-term mission team will primarily work on various construction projects, but the main focus is on building relationships. Teams are encouraged to spend time in the community meeting people and gaining a new perspective on God, another culture, and the developing world.

In preparation for the trip, the high school ministry team will host three trainings to inform, equip, and bond the ministry team of students and leaders.

This trip will be capped at 35 students in order to create space for deep community and rich relationality to take place, so please register at your earliest convenience. There will be a waitlist in case the trip fills up.

• A passport valid through January 13, 2025
• Knowledge of vaccine and immunization records
• Insurance information
