More than 5,400 children are currently in the foster care system in the DFW metroplex.. They are placed with caregivers that include foster parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who have all stepped up to bring these kids into their home to care for them. Many of these families are operating on a limited budget and find it difficult to provide items beyond basic care. Many children arrive to a home with only the clothes they are wearing. Our desire is to bless both the families and the children with items they need but also provide spiritual and emotional support.
The Dallas Foster Closet is located at 1411 N. Peak Street, Suite 3. It serves foster, kinship and adoptive families in and around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.
Donations can be made at Highland Park Presbyterian Church (3821 University Blvd) on Monday–Friday from 9 am–5 pm or Sundays from 8 am–12 pm. Donations will also be accepted during the operating hours at the Dallas Foster Closet on Peak Street. Both new and gently used items are accepted.
You can also order a gift from Amazon and have it shipped directly to the church.
Please give HERE if you would like to make a financial contribution to our Foster Care Ministry.
We need many volunteers to make this ministry a success! We need volunteers to sort donations at the church and then transport the items to the Closet on Peak Street. We will also need individuals to work at the Closet during open hours. Please sign up to learn about the upcoming volunteer opportunities as they are developed.
