Ben has been serving on the staff at Highland Park Presbyterian Church since 2010. He is originally from Beijing, China and in 1990 he graduated from the Civil Engineering Dept at Tsinghua University in China. In 1998, he received a Master of Divinity degree from the International Theological Seminary (ITS) in Los Angeles, California and in 2007 he earned A Master of Theology from ITS. Ben's favorite thing about working at HP Pres is the friendly, nice and considerate environment he gets to work in. Before coming to HP Pres, he was serving as the Chinese pastor at a church in Los Angeles. In 2010, when HP Pres leadership decided to plant a Chinese church, they recruited Rev. Wang who helped launch the church in April 2011.Ben and his wife, Esther, have 3 children, Aileen, Gloria, and Elizabeth. He enjoys traveling, and social activities. He currently serves on the Board of the China Revival Seminary in Beijing and has previously served as the consultant of World Vision in China.Favorite scripture: Philippians 3:13Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.Ben loves this passage and notes that this is so famous in China that it is not written in Chinese handwriting due to the communist market.
