Laura Murray

Pastor of Formation and Prayer


Laura has served at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in various roles since 2005 and has been a member of the church since January 2007. After going through the Pastoral Resident program, Laura was named as Pastor of Spiritual Formation. Being of Armenian descent she was born in Houston, Texas after her parents emigrated from Iran.

Laura leads at HP Pres through written devotional studies, spiritual practices, and leadership in prayer in order for people to grow deeper in their faith and relationship with God.

After getting her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Communications from Texas Tech, she pursued a Master’s degree in Theology with an emphasis in Systematic Theology and Missions from Dallas Theological Seminary. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller Seminary.

Laura is married to her husband, Craig, and they have two children, Luke and Cora. She believes dessert is only dessert if it includes chocolate.

One of her leading Scripture’s in life comes from the Book of Ephesians and speaks to the truth of God's great love, power and hope we have through Christ:

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
