Angie joined our staff in early 2015, but has been a longtime member of the church who has faithfully poured into so many ministry areas, including a Congregational Life internship during her seminary studies. Prior to HP Pres, she was a hospital chaplain at Baylor Scott & White.Angie was born and raised in Oklahoma, but came to Dallas shortly after college graduation. She has a B.S. in Speech Communications from OSU and recently earned an M.A.C.E. from Dallas Theological Seminary.Angie shared why she enjoys serving on staff by saying, “I love staff chapel. To connect through prayer with other staff members is a gift. I love being in ministry, and every person in every single job at this church is in ministry to those who casually walk in to drop children off at school, attend an event, or regularly worship.”Angie found HP Pres through the Singles Ministry in 1982 and recalled the contagious hospitality and love of Jesus by Sherry Willis Linnen, Neil and Neline Rambin and Jim Roseman to name a few.Angie married her husband Tim, 26 years ago in Wynne Chapel with Peter Barnes officiating. They have three children: Anders, Wilson and Hollis. When asked what she enjoys doing, Angie said, “My family, though far from perfect, is my greatest joy! I also enjoy riding my bike around White Rock Lake, reading, and being present for my sweet friends and church body. There is no greater privilege than to walk the road of life with another human being.”Angie’s favorite Scripture is John 3:30. "He must become greater, I must become less.” John was a faithful man who knew his purpose; to humble himself and to glorify God. Eight words that sum up my purpose as well. I also love Mary’s words from Luke 1:38, “I am the Lord’s servant, may it be to me as you have said.” Here is a woman who just had an angel appear—an angel!—and in absolute obedience and faith responded with those words. May I be so faithful.
