Peak Street Church Turns One

Decked out with balloons and streamers, we went all out to celebrate the first year of our Old East Dallas church plant, Peak Street Church. The room on the second floor of the historic Brannon Building was overflowing with folks leaning into the vision of Peak Street Church. Through stories of transformation and coming together for communion, the powerful work of Jesus united the hearts of everyone gathered.

A party commenced after the weekly benediction. Friends and family posed for silly pictures at the photo booth and indulged in the delicious eats from La Victoria Taqueria. An abundance of school supplies was collected as gifts for the neighboring elementary school, Cesar Chavez Learning Center. The space was filled with a hum of chit-chat and laughter—a sweet reminder of the joy found in living life in community.

As we look at Peak Street Church’s one year milestone, we could not be more blown away by God’s faithfulness in fulfilling this dream. Our continued prayer is that, through personal transformation and cultural renewal, Old East Dallas would continue to flourish as Peak Street Church proclaims the hope of the Gospel to the neighborhood. We are expectant for all he might do in through our family of churches in the next year.
