Session Update - November

The Session of Highland Park Presbyterian Church is the ruling body of our congregation, charged with governance, overseeing the Church’s spiritual health, and guiding its mission for Christ in the world. In order to better do this, the Session communicates frequently with the congregation of HP Pres to report its decisions and activities. You can visit the Elders page (hppres.org/elders) to see other updates from the Session and to send messages to our Elders and pastors.

November Update

Dear HP Pres Family,

On Monday, November 26, our Session met to discuss and pray for our church. Below are some of the highlights from the meeting that you should be aware of and praying for during this next month. If you have questions or feedback about any of these topics, you can contact the Session at hppres.org/elders.

  • The Session, after a day of fasting, spent time in prayer together for God’s guidance and protection over Highland Park Pres and its congregation.
  • Two of our newest elders, Pete Townsend and Neil Rambin, shared their testimony and how God is currently at work in their lives.
  • The Campus Vision team shared the latest news about the construction happening to our campus. Beginning this week, a construction fence will be erected around the Hunt building, and a “gentle” demolition will begin possibly in the first week of December.
  • As part of Vision 100, our 100% Covenant Partners team discussed what we learned from the cards turned in during the spiritual growth commitment moment during worship on November 11. Thank you to everyone who filled out a card. If you missed worship that day but would still like to see how to best grow in your spiritual life, visit hppres.org/growth.
  • In January, the Session will hold their annual retreat to pray for the congregation of Highland Park Pres, and to seek guidance from God in leading our church in the upcoming year.

Seeking to Glorify Him,

The Session Communication Team
