Ways to Pray This Week – March 21

How incredible it is that we have a God we can talk with — and that is what prayer is! At HP Pres, we believe prayer makes a difference in our lives, and in the lives of others. Take a few minutes today to talk with God using the Scripture and prayers below.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:35-40

Hospitality includes receiving people and walking towards them, serving them and giving them space to be as they are. This week, please pray:

  • that the people of God, the church, would practice hospitality and love.
  • that we would cultivate margin, space, and time in our lives, that we might be attentive and responsive to the needs of others.
  • that we would receive the love and hospitality of God for ourselves, and pour it out towards our family, friends, and even those who are different and foreign to us.
  • that we would not be bound to the fear of those who look, sound, speak, and live differently than we do.
